Hello all,
We are running ARIS Connect 9.5 (95.0.2.840515/Java Runtime Environment 1.8.0_25) on Internet Explorer 9 and will be upgrading to IE 11 (IE is our company's "official" browser). As the ARIS users, we will be responsible for validating our application on the new browser.
Does anyone have an impact scope &/or a range of high level test cases/areas for browser updates? I am actually thinking that there would be more testing needed for a Java upgrade than a browser upgrade, but wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything. We will also need to validate Business Publisher, which I would think is more dependent on the browser than Connect.
Thanks for your help.
Joe
Dear Joe,
Officially supported was IE11 only with ARIS 9.6.
And Java 1.8 is still not yet officially supported but will be for upcoming ARIS 9.8, planned for April. Please be aware that all ARIS server products bring their own Java runtime environment. The same counts for the installable ARIS clients. Only so called ARIS download clients depend on a locally installed JRE, which is currently only JRE 1.7.
I suggest to let Global Support ARIS assist you in checking any known issues with ARIS 9.5 on your planned versions for IE and Java.
Cheers
Rune
Thanks for the information Rune. We also sent out a message to our vendor and they replied that 9.5 should be OK with IE11. We are planning on migrating to ARIS 9.7 within the next few months, but for now, need to keep plugging along with 9.5.
So, "download clients" - when we login to ARIS Connect, we select to "download clients" - sounds like us.
We are running Java build 1.8.0_25-b18
Any precautions with Business Publisher?
