Change old symbols from ARIS 7 to new symbols of ARIS 9

Hi,

you need to change the symbol palette.

This is easy, just open the property pages of a database and change it:

But please be aware that you need to do more, because the the models of the database are created with other symbols having other sizes!

If you open a model after changing the palette (you need to log out and log in into the database again), and open a model. It does not look correct because all objects are placed using a template made for the old symbol style. Thus, you need to set the template of the model to "Reset" and to "Standard" afterwards.

One most likely will be forced to adjust the layout of the models afterwards... This is a consequence of the simple fact that the new symbols have other sizes due to the little icons within the symbol surface used to describe the objects.

I am rather new in Aris and especially in Aris 9 so sorry for those questions. Thank you for the post Mr. Weyand - it was very helpful for me but I still cannot deal with the problem with the size of the objects. When I import all the models with old objects from Aris 7 to Aris 9 the new objects are overlaping (because of the size) and I should change them manually. But this is not an option because in my company there over 500 processes and I cannot imagine to do them one by one. And the other problem is that some of our process experts would like to work with the old objects and the others with new - so we should find the solution easily to switch between symbol palette. Is there any possibility to prevent overlapping somehow.
