Hi everyone,
i would like to link tasks in my BPMN model to an UML-class in a second model in order to visualize the UML-objects of this class in my BPMN-model.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance!
Jonas
Hello Jonas,
there is a chapter in the online help explaining how you link your UML artefacts to ARIS objects. When you have done that, you have several options:
1. If you are on a release prior to 10.0 SR12, you can connect your satellite objects (with the link to your UML classes) in function allocation diagrams to your tasks and sub-processes.
2. If you are on the latest and greatest 10.0 SR12 you can model the satellites directly in the Enterprise BPMN model and there is no need to use the function allocation diagrams any more. Trade-off: Your BPMN models resemble EPCs in row layout.
3. If you are a user of Cloud Advanced (which is also 10.0 SR12) you can do the modelling of the satellite objects in the Properties tab. There is no need to create occurrences in the model or function allocation diagrams at all as I suggested in 2. This feature is not available in the Enterprise Edition, yet.

In UML Designer click on the question mark at the top right to access the Help, which opens in your Browser. Select "Working with UML Designer". In the "Contents" navigation select "General procedures -> Link objects from business processes with UML elements".

Replace your.server in the link with the location of your instance.
