Word list functionality in ARIS

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you are trying to do. If you try to standardize your company vocabulary, you usually do that by documenting the allowed terms in a technical terms model.

Or are you asking for some kind of vocabulary support in ARIS so that you can limit the terms available while creating new objects or models? This is not available as standard functionality, but it was implemented as scripts in different customer projects. Usually, they created scripts to check the repository during the night for possible violations and report/correct them.

We are looking for a similar capability to what Mr Feldt referred to - providing a hyperlink from a word in an object name to a text desciption in a glossary.

Alternatively, we may use the Spell Checker / dictionary to at least keep track of valid abbreviations or acronyms.

Is there a capability to control via security which users can perform "Add to dictionary", or the ability to remove a word from the dictionary that was added incorrectly.

Hello Carl,

the spell checker is based on dictionary / word list files on the user's workstation 

Windows %userprofile%\ARIS71\dictionaries\user\*.dic

If you protected the file the user could no longer append words to the list, but how frustrating is that.

I had assumed the dictionary was shared on the server. Since that is not the case, you are correct - it would not be a good plan to protect this file.
