BPMN: Default XOR Gateway symbol

Good question! It's not that I am aware of that functionality.

Maybe there is a possibility to create an event-based macro for that purpose? But maybe others have better ideas :)

thx for the proposal and the example. It works fine if you want to allow XOR gateways only. My request is to have the empty gateway symbol replaced by the symbol with X without loosing the logic of the other gateway types. The BPMN specification allows both symbols for the XOR logic, but from my point of view it is not a good style to model with empty gateway symbols. So the default, using a gateway, should be the XOR gateway with the X Symbol with the options to change to all other types.

I'd say the BPMN notation in ARIS is the least customizable (you don't have another model type where you can change a symbol with a special menu). For the standard model, you can change the order of the symbols in the Filter, but BPMN models are trickier. Having a Gateway symbol on the symbol panel, you cannot define and sort a separate sub-symbol (OR, AND...). The same story with Tasks,  Events etc. Some clients asked me to do the same for events, but the filter is the only way I found with this model type.

Yes, I agree. A lot of functionality around the BPMN model types seems to be hard-coded, and it is a pity that some things cannot be changed. But compared to other BPMN implementations it is one of the best interface for designers.

I 100% agree with you that this is the best tool; however, if we are talking about a Desktop app, because the web modeler requires the use of the French language ))
