Hello everyone,

with the new update I am not able to activate or load any modeltypes or my already done prozesses. No click on the buttons helps. I don't know what to do, I already deinstalled and installed aris express 2 times.

Dear Kerstin,

Do you see the context menu when you a click on your recently opened model?

It should show "Open" "Remove" and "Remove all". Maybe just the left & right mouse buttons are switched.

Are you using ARIS Express on Windows or a different operating system?

thank your for helping me.


I can see the context menu but when I click on open it shows just this preview. I also can't open with the normal menu any file.

With the click nothing happens. I work with windows 7, service pack 1.

there is also no possibility to start a new model, either with file-new or with the buttons on the dashboard.

Hi Kerstin.

Some questions:

  1. Which platform do you use? Apple or windows?
  2. Did you use the Webstart Version or Windows version (locally installed setup).
  3. Please zip and attach the content of the folders


    - and -


    and attach it here?
  4. If you use Windows: could you delete folder %userprofile%/ARISExpress and restart?

thanks for your help.

4. I did delete the folder and restart. There is the same problem. My own files are not on the right side (last models) but non of the buttons works and I could not start a new model with (file, new).

I could send you a .flv-Video file(3,37 MB) but there is no possibility to upload .flv-Files.

Ok... uh...

I do not know you policies considering access rights (and believe my, I've seen whatever policies you can imaging) but that here is really surprising.

Maybe you could have a chat with you IT. Your restriction on your machine are very hard.

What I can see in the log files:

No access to: "C:\Users\Kleinow\ARISExpress\server\log\effectiveSettings.log" 

- and, which is really surprising -

no access "C:\Users\Kleinow\AppData\Local\Temp"

You, or Express, respectively, should have the possibility to change/store files under "C:\Users\Kleinow\ARISExpress".

And, no access to the user's own temporary folder is really harsh.

So, as long as Express is not able to store/load/change files in these folders, you got no chance to work with Express. I do not know at all, why this happened with the new version of Express, and I am wondering why this worked with the older version.
