I have installed ARIS Express onto my office laptop and I am trying to open the application; when I input my name and password, a dialog with the following text is displayed; 'unable to connect to ARIS Community. Please connect to the internet when running ARIS Express for the first time...'.
I was connected to the internet at that time and even had the ARIS Community website open.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I selected the 'use proxy server' option, added the proxy server details and was then able to access ARIS Express.
The FAQ you directed me to presents an image of the Java internet settings dialogue that indicates we should not be using the proxy server option. I would suggest that this is incorrect and should be changed to illustrate 'use the proxy server' option.

the picture shown in the "frequently asked questions" catalogue shows, that the internet browser settings of the system are used.
The intention is, that normally, these settings are correct, also regarding the browser settings.
Anyway, good to hear that you are able to work with Express now.
