Hi All.
I wanted to reach out to gain some ideas/examples of how others have been managing operating procedures using ARIS. I've previously used the option to create a weblink from an object, which would take me to another document (e.g. Slides, SharePoint) where the information is created or hosted.
Does anyone have any examples of where they have used ARIS to host their operating procedures & have included visuals beyond a typical process flow such as images & videos to support the reader?
If there are any insights/ideas anyone is willing to share, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
It depends on how you understand and use the SOP term. From your point of view (correct me), it looks like there are details of one process activity/step, but for this piece of information, I'd instead use the 'work instruction' term. IMO, the SOP is much broader and covers at least one process, including stakeholders, KPIs, Risks, Policies, etc.
Anyway, if we are talking about the first case (work instruction), there are two standard approaches: 1 - activities attributes and 2 - links (which work great, especially if these links are on ADS). And it depends on what you'd put into those links. We had a project where the Client had a team that recorded small training videos (20-120 seconds) for each process step where it is required. The approach was not very cheap, but very efficient for the change management within the franchise network with 100+ units.
If we are talking about SOP, that covers the processes. I'd say it is a kind of automatic report that you can meet on the ARIS project. And this kind of report is different for 100% of projects. And there is a wide range of different 'depends' that affect the SOP. I'd say this is one of the project's main deliverables because everyone wants a document based on the model with zero hands-on in the document itself.
