Hi I tried to download a free version of Aris Express, and there is no file download option.

please have a look at the "frequently asked questions": http://www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express/installation-faq#mac
You need to switch back to JRE 1.6 and use the "alternative download" for non-windows-systems.
