Hello, respected community!
I've encountered an unclear error while installing ARIS 10 Design Server (tried releases 17 and 23 - the error is the same). The problem occurs during the installation of ARIS Agent.
I'm installing it on a clean Windows Server 2019 Datacenter operating system. I've downloaded the latest updates, and Java is the latest version. The hardware requirements meet ARIS specifications. The installer doesn't show any errors until the very end. It simply states that an unknown error occurred, and the installation is not complete. I'm seeking your assistance.
I've attached the log. I've looked at the log, but I couldn't find anything useful. However, it's possible that I just don't understand it.
Hi
The error root cause if not clear, however I saw similar issues in past based in these messages.
To avoid any issues please make sure that hostname doesn't contains any special characters like "_" , also see if the user is running the installation with admin rights.
If these tips doesn't help, please also provide the ARIS install...

Hi Andre!
Thank you for your response. Today, I double-checked all the settings following your advice. The hostname only contains English letters, and I made sure to run the installation as an administrator. Additionally, I attempted the installation with the firewall completely turned off today (I conducted two attempts, one with the internet on and one without). The result remains the same.
I've attached screenshots of the settings I choose during installation, as well as today's log. The screenshots demonstrate my usual choices; with these settings, I've successfully installed it several times on other hardware in the past. Everything used to work fine before.
In my initial message, I didn't specify the hardware configuration of the equipment. I simply mentioned that it meets the requirements. But just in case, here are the details:
- Processor: Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4
- RAM: 64 GB
- I have set up two independent RAID configurations (RAID-1 for the system, RAID-5 for ARIS and data). The available disk space at the moment is over 500 GB.
Best regards, Anton
Dear Anton,
You have used WINARR as hostname. Did you make sure that the computer resolves that name properly, or http://winarr.local?
I'd like to recommend a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) where hostname/computer name is complemented by the domain where the computer is assigned to, such as winarr.mycompany.com.
That enables also your ARIS users to access the computer where you have installed ARIS Server.
Cheers
Rune
