Is there any enhacement in ARIS Connect to do this?

In ARIS 7.2 version it was very difficult and not very efficient cause every time you refresh de data base, url aren´t usefull any more.

We regularly need to create links to process models from within intranet pages. Copy the GUID information from the address bar and then to insert the GUID number into a standard link.

Considering that we are about to implement the upgrade to Connect we are planning to use JAM in order to provide users an easy way to get to Process models in ARIS by clicking an url that takes them to the model in ARIS.

Please, if anyone have done this, I would really apreciatte your considerations / help.

Best Regards,

Dear Mariano,

I don't really understand the issue you had in ARIS 7 with URLs. Have you published your ARIS 7 databases using Business Publisher or via HTML Export?

Anyway, you may already know that ARIS Connect combines as "2-in-1" products what you know from ARIS 7 as ARIS Business Server (for modeling processes) + ARIS Business Publisher (for consuming processes in a browser).

Hence, there's no need to publish ARIS models anymore. Connect offers via its both client products consuming/browsing processes (via ARIS Connect Viewer) + modeling processes (via ARIS Connect Designer). And the both are literally just one click away. So there's no need to publish processes into a separate database or put them as exported HTML files on another portal.

To better understand the both client products have a look what our training partner Confiance put on YouTube:

And there many more capabilities in Connect which didn't exist in ARIS 7 at all:

  • Collaboration: comment, like, reply on the process context and follow them for future changes
  • Governance: several automated processes help to govern the usage, such as sharing a model or document, initiate and approve change requests etc.

There's another channel providing a detailed overview of ARIS 9 capabilities: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFx6fUsRWvgjGBdCkbkNLIg

Let me know if none of the above helped you to move forward.

Cheers

Rune

Dear Rune, cristal clear!!! Thank you very much.

Anyway, let me tell you the issue here. As a standar for communities en general we have SAP JAM deployed, so the technical groups of proffesionals create their own communities there and share knowledge.

Is there any possibility to let them connect models in ARIS Connect through url´s from JAM? - this is what they are asking for!!

Thank you for your help.

This could be feasible, but requires a closer look on the capabilities of the both APIs, ARIS and SAP Jam.

I think that can't be discussed much further here. Are you in contact with someone of Software AG LATAM? http://www.softwareag.com/latam/

Cheers
