Is it possible to add custom attributes to factsheets? If so ... how?
Thanks, Rune. I have managed to get it working. It seems that attributes can be mapped to Connect properties as long as the attributes are common to all of the ARIS types in the item.
For example, the Connect item "Data" is associated with 11 ARIS types. If the custom attribute is not available for all of those types, it cannot be used as a property of "Data". Now that I understand this, we can move forward.

Although I am not really an expert in configuring Connect, let me ask you whether you already have configured/added your custom attributes in the Items section as properties. According to another Connect expert that could be the reason why you couldn't find them.
If this doesn't resolve your issue, I suggest to raise a support ticket as your next option.
