Hello Matt,
one of the advantages using the standard modelling notation BPMN 2.0 is the availability of a defined interchange format (diagram layout and the referring attributes) to transfer models between different tools. Signavio and ARIS as full standard conformance tools are supporting this interchange format. So you have a bidirectional way (exporting and importing) regarding the standard, but this also means that tool specific extensions are not transferred.
