Hello,
I am writing to ask if anyone of you knows how to increase the size of the modeling template, and that through a report generated a model that exceeds the allowed size, in view of the model are all modeled objects, but when make a visual inspection will not let me check around since the template has a display limit.
I leave you a sample image, it indicates the space that is allowed to see me.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Miguel,
you can't extend the size of the modelling canvas. It is already very large. If you would print it, it would be several meters long and wide.
I guess you are generating your diagram using a script. Have you tried to first put all objects at the same position and after you added all objects to run layout? Maybe the layout algorithm finds another way to position all objects?
Hi Sebastian,
I just received a request from our major user group to extend the canvas size. Reason: they create a full end to end process to discuss in workshops to have a complete overview and to determine items and impact for (IT) development and Risk.
Indeed the print is meters long (printed on A0 printer), but the processes are so complex that is does not fit on the canvas. And the participants must be able to see the model from a short distance, so the symbol size cannot be to small. They would like to have the double size. In reports they do not use the model graphics, because text is more relevant in that case (Excel reports and tables in Word).
Do we need to request this via Empower as a feature? Are there any other ARIS users requesting for this?
Hi,
I've been asked this same question. I've requested that our administrator log the call with Empower so that we can get a definite answer but I'd like to know what people are doing about this.
My suggestion is that since ARIS is a modelling tool, you should be breaking the models into components i.e. reusable bits. Then the detailed view becomes a composition. Theres also the point about it not being easy to understand eveything all at once so yo beak it down from different perspectives so that you're able to get at the info you need when you need it
