I am trying to fix a broken SAP project structure. After reconnecting my EPC Process Model to the SAP Process function on the Scenario model and reconnecting the scenario model to the SAP VACD function contained on the Project Model which is connected to the project root function I receive the following error.
"Unable to determine the logical components. Please check whether the assignment relationships between the project element and this model are maintained consistently."
This is a very inconsistant problem. Some scenarios I fixed are structurally sound, but others receive the above error. I am at a lost in finding the common reason for receiving the above error.
If anyone can provide any insight or guidance to isolate the problem it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks very much,
Mike
Hi Mike,
it seems that the assignment structure of your SolMan project is inconsistent.
For example a scenario model has maintained the process 'PR1_1' but the process has no assignment to its process model 'PR1_1'. And if you then try to sync one of the process steps (e.g. PRS1_1_1) of this process 'PR1_1' then the synchronisation can not find the project root node (e.g. to get the system landscape). In Other words there is anywhere a broken relationship from any structure element to the project root in your SolMan project
Best regards,
Sascha
Thank you Sascha for your reply. I understand the linkage required which I have checked and rechecked. As you point out, the assignment structure and the attrbutes for SAP Model Type and SAP Function Type are the only ones required to recreate the structure, but as I pointed out this is an inconsistant problem. Some scenarios that I fixed work, while others get the message I mentioned before. Your example is good, but is there anything else that could affect the structure that I may be missing?
Thanks again,
Mike
