I saw a question in Stackoverflow and i want to know the answer too.

---

In my company we use Excel/SQL Server/Access/VB.NET/C#/.... I want to remove many workarounds, but first i need to understand the whole thing.   I'm not an model expert, so i want some opinions (and patterns) from you guys.   For my Macro model, i'm thinking to use Aris Express and make something like this:

For my Data Model Diagram i tried to use "New Database Diagram" from SQL Server but i got some problems using it. I can't create a Diagram with two Databases, (i need it because we split the databases in 'general company's database' and 'specific software database' ). For my Data Model Diagram i could use simply ER Model.

Does someone know a pattern that i can follow?
