I'm using Excel to import objects into ARIS (IT/ SOA Architect). On the first tab (model_structure) I've entered the following data:
- M_Type 'Archimate-model'
- Symbol 'Entitytype'
- CXNS 'aggregate'
- (first) object_name <name of the model to be created>
- (second) object_name <master object to be shown on the model>
- (third and further) object_name < objects which are aggregated to the 'master object>
All objects are imported and a model is created. However, the model only contains 1 object: which has the same name as the model. Since the other objects have no relationship to the master object, executing 'generating a model' does not help. The report does not show any error.
Does anybody know how to import objects, while at the same time creating their relationships and consequently (automatically - as part of the import) generating the model?
Thanks in advance, Michel
The model load SS is not exactly intuitive. Instead of specifiying the "objects which are aggregated to the master object" on the same line using the "third and further object_name columns" try putting each one on it's own line. Repeat columns A thru D where column D is the name of the master object, and in column E on each line place the name of the new object that you want to be related to the master object. This should give you the results that you are looking for.
