If your imported model was "derived" from some type on another server, it means that it is customized.
It means the configuration (meta model) on another company's server was modified. When you exported the derived model, the export file did not contain information about your changes in configuration. To get this information on your new server, you should export and import the Method Filter from the source server. Only the Method filter carries out information about configuration.
In your case, you need to get the Method filter from the source server somehow; otherwise, you will see this message.

Hi,
I think the error description is very clear. The model type is not part of the method filter or does not exist in the target ARIS database. You can try (if you have the rights) to choose the filter "entire method" when activating the database. If the same message is coming up then the specific customizations of the model type is not defined in the ARIS database otherwise the choosen filter was wrong.

Hi Alexander,
but we doesn't want others company filter to be imported in our database, is there any other way i can show this model in ARIS connect Published mode?

Hi Nidhi,
I believe that's impossible without a filter. The most unpleasant effect that could happen with another filter importing is the renaming of some models/objects/attributes. But this is the only effect that could happen. There is no effect on data.
The most effective way to export/import models is using Merge & DB Backup/Restore. It guarantees that you have imported data even from ARIS 7. However, export/import does not always work properly.

Hi Nidhi,
Alexander's right. Without the customized method filter it is not possible to display the customized model. If it is not possible (allowed) for you (your organization) to transfer the method filter, the only way I see is to export the model to PDF in the source database and load it in the document storage for viewing.

Thanks for the information,
is there any harm if I import external filter, does it impact on our exist list of filters other database is using will it overwrite the existing filter.

As I mentioned before, the risk is only that you can change the name of models/objects/connections/attribute types. Very often, when someone exports a filter from the cloud to an enterprise, you get a Process landscape model type instead of a Value-added chain diagram. It's not a big problem; you can always restore it in configuration. What you can do to assure that everything is okay after import.
- Export your current filter; if you don't have one, export the Entire method.
- Import the external filter; all extra meta-data will be imported.
- Import your current filter, if you don't have - Entire method. This will overwrite back all changes made by external filter.
Regarding overwrite the existing filter. If this filter is at your server and if it was even renamed, ARIS will check it, and you'll see a warning dialog. In this cas,e you can act per my algorithm above
