Hi,
a professor gave me a an old xml-file and emf-file (see attached files). He says, it was exported with ARIS 7.
Is there a way, to import these old files into ARIS 10 or is there any converter?
Sorry for the questions, but I'm not so familiar with the handling of ARIS. I'm just the admin, who installed the server and the client :-(.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Regards
Tobias
Hi Tobias,
yes, that works... the xml file can be imported using ARIS Portal Designer or ARIS Business Architect into a group of an ARIS database.
Just checked it, it works.
Symbol style has changed meanwhile... if you need to old look of the symbols, you need to use the old palette in the database.
Bye,
Frank
Hi Frank,
thanks for your answer.
I tried this, but it doesn't work for me :-(.
What I have done:
1. Started ARIS-Architect and logged in.
2. In the "ARIS-Explorer" I opened my database and the main group
3. Right-clicked at Main Group -> Choose "Import" -> "XML-Datei"
4. Selected the xml-file and selected the Option "Prüfen und Importieren" and clicked on "Fertigstellen"
5. After that I get the following screen and nothing was imported
Have I done anything wrong?
Did you try it with my files?
Regards
Tobias
Hi,
yes, I tried with your files.
Which version of ARIS Architect do you have? Please send this information to contact@ariscommunity.com, including the files, and I will send you back a database. You can just merge then the model into your database as you which. This is less time consuming than error determination... you would be forced to create an hotline issue.
Bye,
Frank
