trying to export to XML for the first time with ARIS 9.7, i have a strange issue of unknown encoding character.. ?
the file is not readable as a text using utf8, ansi, ISO-8859-1, -2...
reading the install/admin file, i do not see where we can set the encoding for export... ?

i generate these files as system user...
do u mean that they are not readable from an external editor ?

yes, you are right. Also the "system" user is only a user having a certain license. If you assign the appropriate license, you see an editable file.

OK... and i imagine that the academic license do not allow to generate editable xml files... ;o(
That's a big issue for us (laboratory DISP of INSA-Lyon), because we want to check some characteristics of models managed on ARIS... calculating some "distances" between different views or models... Previously, using ARIS7, it was not a problem...
Is it possible to transfer this post in the academic forum ?

we have similar issues. We created an XML file to be imported into e.g. HPQC and it is not working because of 'unreadable characters'. How can we get a readable xml from ARIS?

Hi,
xml export files are only readable, if the user has the license privilege "ARIS Access" assigned.
