Hi,

i discover a limitation of academic license which is new in ARIS9..

We export models in xml format to work with external tools on some characteristics of model (basically some measures from graph theory). The scientific aim is to evaluate an engineering approach of "alignment"..

But since ARIS9, it's not possible to read xml export in external tools.. They are encoded /crypted... It seems to be dependant of some rights of the license...

Thanks to see how we can still use theses xml files from ARIS...

Hi,

xml export files are only readable, if the user has the license privilege "ARIS Access" assigned.

Hi,

yes, you are right. Also the "system" user is only a user having a certain license. If you assign the appropriate license, you see an editable file.

OK... and i imagine that the academic license do not allow to generate editable xml files... ;o(

That's a big issue for us (laboratory DISP of INSA-Lyon), because we want to check some characteristics of models managed on ARIS... calculating some "distances" between different views or models... Previously, using ARIS7, it was not a problem...

Is it possible to transfer this post in the academic forum ?

thanks for this clear answer !
