ARIS issues on Windows 7 and Windows 8

Hi Paula,

for sure ARIS runs on Windows 7 or 8.

What JRE are you using? This is by far more important then the operation system.

Could you give us more information what the problem actually is? Error logs etc...

Hi Frank,    Thank you for your reponse. Right now, in order to run ARIS on a Windows Vista machine, the java versions installed and running should be    java1.4.2_17 & java 1.6.0_12.    Using any other version will cause issues such as, the ARIS application will not load at all, or reports cannot run.    The issue we have for Windows 7 and 8 is that after clicking on the database, nothing happens. no errors are shown, it's just it will not load at all.    What java versions should we be using for windows 7 & 8? do we need to upgrade to a more recent ARIS version? We are currently running ARIS7.1. It is hosted on an application server and users access the application thru web. Hi,

the reason why I referred to the Java version was a changed behavior in the JRE. If the JRE is installed in a path containing blanks (such as "C:\Program Files\Java" etc), the download client did not start. We released a hotfix for that.

I just wanted to make sure, that this is not the case.

Depends... I still cannot foreclose that the described behavior is the case here.

Could you switch on the java console (system panel -> java) to get more information?

We've recently gone thru Win XP to Win 7 in our organization (without changing Aris 7.1 version). According to Frank replies, yes, the main thing is to manage well your client JVM configuration.

nothing happens when clicking on "ARIS Platform installieren" with "start.exe" (current  Business Architect academic release).

System:

- Win 8.1, 64 bit

- Java JRE 7, Update 45 (latest release)
