ARIS and SOLMAN's synchronization capability is a huge benefit to utilize; however, when synchronizing SOLMAN and ARIS, the global models need to be locked so they are not overwritten. Has anyone found or is currently using a better method than locking the objects? Locking the objects forces us to cut ties in the relational database so when a change is made in global, we must go in to each model that uses the global template and manually apply the change. I have found the following in another post:
- permanently lock the models you work on offline, if you already know which models you want to change. So nobody else is able to change them until you come back and release the lock
- do versioning on the database. If you come back and overwrite possible changes, you can use the model comparison which shows you what have been changed.

Any other suggestions or ideas of how to assess this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Paul,
I'm currently faced with a ARIS SOLMAN sychronisation challenge.
In my organisation, we had multiple SOLMAN projects, now business wants every SOLMAN project to sychronizes with one ARIS database.
Is this possible? And if it is possible how can we do it?
Look forward to your response.
Warm Regards,
Sunil
Hi Sunil,
It is possible to synchronize multiple SolMan projects into a single ARIS dB. The synchronization can be started by right clicking on any group in the group structure. So, different SolMan projects in different groups within a given database....if I understand your question correctly.
Best Regards,
Bob
