Failed ARIS Express download on AppleMac from trying to install using the 'express.jnlp' file

if you want to explore some actual ARIS features (w/o AI) I recommend a free trial of the cloud version "ARIS Advanced" valid for one month. (see https://ariscommunity.com/get-full-aris/cloud). ARIS Express is free of charge with a very basic functionality but is good to learn, how to use EPC or BPMN for process modelling. Since years no functionaly updates were published in Aris Express.

ARIS Express on Mac: The Java web start file with the extension jlnp seems to be detected as malware on Mac OS (I am not a Mac user).

In this case you can overwrite the security settings temporarily (see https://support.apple.com/de-de/102445).

The AI companions is not available for Express and as Klemens said is better go thru Free Cloud version where you have several new features available.

But be aware, that AI companion is also NOT available in ARIS Basic or ARIS Advanced / Connect (i.e. still not in SR27 for these versions). So unfortunately ONLY as Enterprise customer - and there is no trial available - you can test these new AI features.
