The challenge
In a previous blog article, I demonstrated how to easily create process models from text using the ARIS AI Companion. However, getting information into ARIS is only one side of the coin. It's equally important to ensure that users can easily find and use this information in their daily work. While I personally enjoy reading diagram-based representations, I understand that this method may not be everyone's preferred choice. This is especially true when you only need a small piece of information from a diagram, such as identifying which IT system a specific task is executed in, or if you are new to diagrams and are still learning how to interpret them. Wouldn’t it be great if you could simply phrase your question and get an immediate answer? The new ARIS AI Companion, your new experienced colleague who is at your side in ARIS, will support you.
How it works
Open the ARIS AI Companion in the ARIS portal by clicking on the symbol in the top right corner. In the chat dialog that opens, enter your question.
Let's try out the ARIS AI Companion by asking some questions about the leave process. As an employee, I want to know who is responsible for approving my leave. Simply type the question into the chat dialog and press enter. The ARIS AI Companion will then answer your question based on the models maintained in your repository.
It's important to note that AI answers should be considered with care, as they cannot be guaranteed to be 100% correct. To address this, the ARIS AI Companion will always indicate which model the answer is based on, allowing you to easily verify the information. You can do this by clicking on the referenced model in the sources or by clicking on the footnote at the end of the answer.
You can also continue the conversation in the opened chat, with the ARIS AI Companion maintaining the context. Let’s do that by asking if we need to mark the leave in our calendar and if there is anything else we need to take care of.
Based on the leave management process, we get the correct answer: HR is responsible for updating the calendar, and we don’t need to handle anything else. The ARIS AI Companion will save you a lot of time in retrieving the right information from ARIS. You do not need to know what the process covering your answers is called, what a diagram is or how to navigate in ARIS, simply ask the question that is bothering you and get an immediate answer.

A question:
First, assume a) Aris as a service; b) A company experimenting with Microsoft Graph and Microsoft offerings; c) Lots of files on Sharepoint.
As an end user, I would like to use the Microsoft Graph capabilities to do an "AI search" that looks into my mails, accessible Sharepoint files - and, the data in ARIS.
Anyone with experiences on how to best handle this?
Assume that we do not use the ARIS built in document storage - any file referred to will be placed on Sharepoint.
