He everybody,

We would like to add a new attribute to a symbol. What we have done for the moment is the following:

1. Create the new attribute in the administration module (Configuration\Method\Attribute types –> right button --> New

2. Link the new attribute and the Object (symbol) (Configuration\Method\Object types --> Task --> double click --> Select attributes --> Add

3. Try to add the attribute in the model, but the attribute is not in the list

Could somebody help us. Best wishes to everybody and thank you in advance!

Two more things to check:

1. If you are using a method filter other than Entire method filter, you have to add the new attribute to the object type in the filter as well.

2. Log off and on to the database, because the method is loaded upon login and changes to the ARIS method and filter will only become visible after the next login to the database.

First of all, thanks a lot for your help.

Unfortunately I have check points 1 &2 and the problem is not there. We are using Entire method filter and we have log off and on to the database.

Hello,

forgive me and with all necessary respect: I just want to make sure we are not overlooking a step here. With "the attribute is not in the list" you are not talking about the attributes tab, but the list, that pops up with the "More attributes" button?

You're right. We click on the "More attributes" button and the new attribute is not in the list.

OK, I think that's all there was to check. Can you tell us the Symbol type number, Object type number and the type of attribute type you defined? And which version of ARIS are you working with?

Sounds like this might become a case for Software AG support.
