Hi everyone,

Over time, my team has created a large number of complex and detailed process maps/models. During modeling, objects are sometimes added to a map and later removed. As a result, many objects are left behind in the respective groups/folders without any occurrences or relationships in models (i.e., orphaned objects).

Now, we have a significant number of groups/folders, and it has become extremely difficult to:

  • Navigate into each group/folder
  • Inspect objects one by one
  • Identify whether they still have occurrences
  • Manually delete orphaned objects

I’m aware that reports exist which can list object occurrences, but:

  • These reports typically need to be run at the group/folder level
  • Even after identifying orphaned objects, the cleanup still needs to be done manually

Given the scale, this approach is very cumbersome and inefficient. So what is the best way to identify and delete all orphaned objects at the database level across all folders/groups?

  • Ideally, I’m looking for a bulk or automated approach
  • Open to using reports, scripts, macros, or admin-level options
  • The goal is to ensure cleanup without impacting valid objects or model integrity

Any recommendations, best practices, or proven approaches would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
