Hi everyone,
I have a large number of “Application system” objects in ARIS that I need to convert to “Application system type” objects.
My goal is to do this in bulk, while preserving all existing connections/relationships in the models where these objects are used.
At the moment, the manual approach seems to be:
- Open each process model/map
- Delete the Application system object occurrence
- Replace it with an Application system type object
- Go back to the group/folder
- Delete the now-orphaned Application system definition (since it no longer has any occurrences)
Because I’m dealing with a very large number of objects, doing this manually is not practical. Are there any best practices or automated approaches to handle this efficiently?

There is a report "Replace object types" for that. It replaces object types in models, considers attributes and connections. You need to check all maintained attributes if they are available in Application system types, too. And you need to check the connections in the models, as you need to chose a connection type for Application system types in order to not loose any connection. Pls do a test in a copy of your database upfront and take down notes concerning connections that you need to select.
