Good afternoon people. Today we have installed Aris 7.1 on a Windows XP machine, and due to the obsolescence of the equipment and software we intend to migrate to a newer machine. I would like to know if it is easy to migrate the software to a more up-to-date version of Windows (keeping the Aris data) or how simple it would be to migrate to the most up-to-date Aris version.

Hello,
there are a few intermediate migration steps you need to take before you reach the current version:
- 7.1 -> 7.2 SR 7
- 7.2 SR 7 -> 9.8 SR7 (this is a bit tricky, because the user database was separated from your content database, quite a few migration topics to be dealt with here)
- 9.8 SR7 -> 10.0 SR25 (current release)
Still I might have missed one step.
Since the old releases you need on the migration path are not available for download any more you should open a support ticket to discuss the details of your migration project.
Also you might consider to move to one of the cloud editions of ARIS: Basic, Advanced or Enterprise Cloud. This would free you entirely of migration topics in the future.
