Ideally you can connect internal person and role in EPC model, you check your filter.

Dipesh is right. You can adapt the method as you like. The other question is, if you should. If you bloat your EPC with the relationship between an internal person and a certain role, you would have to repeat this relationship whereever the role occurs in your process. And if the role assignment changed and someone else were to perform you would have to change your process model. That is not very desirable.

The advantage of showing this relationship in the org. chart is that you need to declare the relationship between the person and the role only once and in case of changes you need not change your process model (triggering governance processes for approval of the process model).
