Hi there,
I'm just getting started with ARIS and I'm finding it a bit challenging to understand the available information on what the correct modelling approach is.
In my scenario, I have several people working together. Based on what I’ve found online, I should create a role beneath the organizational unit and, if I know the actual person, add them and link them to that role.
However, I’m unsure how to proceed when I have, for example, three employees in the same role. Should I model three separate roles, numbered 1 to 3, or should I create a single role and specify the number of employees via an attribute such as "number of employees"?
Creating multiple numbered roles feels wrong, since it results in duplicate role objects that no longer refer to the same role description.
Kind regards
Sebastian

Hi,
if you want to map people's names also in the org-chart, then you don't need the numbering. You can easily query that information (how many people share the same role). You need to make sure, however, that you use occurrence copies for the role object, otherwise querying will be more difficult.
If you don't want to map people's names, then adding the number is a quite reasonable approach. I did that at one of my previous companies, too. Here, I found it useful to display the number with the respective attribute name next to the object.
Hope this gives you some idea :)
Best
