I believe that anyone who have been using ARIS professionally have had the need to use resource objects (such as rules, systems, roles, documents, etc) in a relationship with an activity. A resource object that is probably managed and life cycled in other repositories than ARIS.
We're using a group structure called an Inventory where we keep those objects in ARIS. All of our inventory objects are synchronized with the master data that remains somewhere else (such as a SQL DB, ReqPro, Excel, etc).
The synchronization is built in Excel VBA loading WSC adapters for different sources, XSLT transformation to/from any format and scripts in ARIS executed from scriptrunner. This is done manually today, since we like to be in control. But, we're moving to a On demand service that will be able to execute it automatically. This will update our inventory directly when the master source is altered.
We would like to share experiences with other ARIS users to understand how you handle this matter.
