What is the best way to access ARIS business designer - do I install it on my system and then connect to server or go through a web url? Also, if I go through a web url, what are the pre-requisites required for the same - will the ARIS server ip address and user ids suffice?

Dear Tripti,
ARIS Business Designer 7.x requires always a connection to ARIS Business Server. You can either install ARIS Business Designer by setup or download it from ARIS Business Server via URL. Latter one requires a local Java runtime environment (JRE).
All of that counts also for ARIS Designer 9.x / ARIS Design Server 9.x.
