UML Sequence Diagrams?

I cant seem to find/create the object of type Lifeline or Activations - has anyone figured this out?

Can someone share a sample sequence diagram?

Here is a very basic example:

/system/files/editor/files/UML Sequence Diagram.doc

Are you using the Entire Method? It may be that the ARIS Repository Manager has not allocated the objects in the method filter you are using

Using SOA Architect I'm able to create everything in Anita's example Sequence Diagram but I can't display/edit the call/message names (e.g., Get Card Status, Get Customer Number). Does anyone know how to display and edit the object names for the ARIS "Stimulus" objects (i.e., calls/messages)?

Hi Greg,

Here is how its done:

Double click on the stimulus

Click on the “Properties Action” button

Select “create operation’” after clicking the down arrow next to the “Use ‘operation’ in Compliance with UML” button

In the name list box, type e.g. getPIN over “New Operation”

Press OK thrice

Anita, this works very well - except when I want to use Stimulus(return). I would like to disply ActionReceipt() instead of return() in the image below, but using the hint above, I don't find "Create Operation". What am I doing wrong?

Hi Willem,

Double click on the return, then then select Arguments under the UML Properties - Stimulus. Click on Create 'Data Value' and type the name in the Name field and select OK . It should display as follows:
