Hi Lennart,
what do you mean with reverse engineering? Is that just a way of starting a modelling project or do you want to connect to a technical system to extract processes?
"Manual" modelling can be done with ARIS Express. If you want to extract processes from existing systems (something often called process mining), you might want to look at ARIS Process Performance Manager, which can do exactly that.
I want to extract historical process information and use as input to reverse process engineering ;-))
Hi Lennart,
still the question remains if you want to do that automatically (aka process mining) using ARIS Process Performance Manager or if you want to do it manually and just document your results with ARIS Express... ;-)
Hi again.
My first goal is to visualize the flow through the uncharted process of our system. The process has never been visualized but it is possible for me to to use a query tool and get historical process information in a file (a snap shot). I would use this file as a imput to Express to demonstrate what the process looks like.
If this goes well then the next step would then be to automate the data feed from the process into a tool that could ( semi real time ) visualize and measure the process ( volumes of different branches and so forth..)
The final step would the to use the data from the tool to improve the process ..... ;-))
I have a similar goal--to input text into Aris Express that contains information for shapes, their labels and connectors. Can I assume that Mr. Westerberg received no response to his queries?I have been able to use Aris Express to input simple text and have it draw a diagram, but this yields all shapes being identical and none of them are connected.
