Exporting XPDL from ARIS to WebMethods

there is no "Aris BPM Tool" product. The export functionality is available in ARIS SOA Architect. This product includes ARIS Business Architect, which you might mean with "Aris BPM Tool".

Yes, Sebastian. Sorry my ignorance but "BPM Tools" are "Aris Design Plataform" tools to me. I didn't know Aris SOA Architect and I was confused with this products names. :)

But, I am BPM Express user and this "Aris world" is new to me... Only one more doubt is: Is not possible import/export bpmn diagrams between Aris Express and bpms tools (Oracle, Tibco) using xpdl format? It's right?

yes, ARIS SOA Architect is one of the ARIS Platform products. ARIS Platform itself is divided into 4 sub-platforms like ARIS Design Platform, ARIS Strategy Platform, etc. See more here.

It is true that ARIS Express can't export XPDL. ARIS Express is meant as tool for entry users. We don't expect entry users will want to automate processes, so need for XPDL. However, if you are a customer of our ARIS Platform tools, there is still a way to export ARIS Express BPMN models to XPDL, because the ARIS Platform tools can import the files generated (ADF) by ARIS Express.

You can also check TIBCO Studio. It says it's capable of importing ARIS models, and it does generate XPDL as a native format for BPMN, but I was incapable to import ARIS models on it, so, probability that this tool suits your needs is very low...

First question:

I am trying to export BMPN model to xpdl in ARIS SOA. But in export there is no xpdl option other than xml.

I just want to know, is there any other method to do this or i had to install any plugins in ARIS?.

Second question:

Transforming BPMN model to EPC in ARIS is not happening fully.

The problem is the events are not transforming.

Can anybody help me out to resolve these issues?

I am new to ARIS(learning) and trying to integrate webMethods to ARIS and vice-versa

1) I think here it would be best to check with our support in case you got a valid support contract. The XPDL depends on the version of ARIS SOA Architect.

2) It is true that the events are not transformed, because in EPC you don't have matching concepts to represent the different BPMN events.

1)The version thing i'll check it out.Since I am using ARIS SOA 7.1, I'll download new version.

2)Any alternate ways to transform BPMN to EPC. Becasue once i transform models from webMethods to BPMN, the next task is to generate EPC.

And one more thing, in EPCs the events after gates is transformed to intermediate events in BPMN.

Whether it is correct or not? I just want to know.

Personally, I'm not aware of any other out-of-the-box way to transform BPMN to EPC. Yes, it is correct that intermediate events are added after a gateway.
