The first entry over on the ARISalign blog was called "It's nice to have friends" and here we are now with our new friends from the ARIS Community. This is very exciting and I can not tell you how pleased I am about this.
For starters I would like to make you aware of a big event that is happening next week Tuesday, March 2nd:
ARISalign is going to launch the Open Beta phase. Make sure to stop by www.arisalign.com on that day to create your profile and start exploring it. It's free!
If you are a little shy and you don't want to jump right in and get your hands dirty, I suggest you attend our launch webinar and watch a demo first - register for it here.
Looking forward to meeting you on ARISalign!
Hi Parveen,
Yes, it is related and no, it is not just another blog focused on ARIS and BPM.
Let me start by providing a text that explains a little more about ARISalign:
-------------------------------------------
ARISalign is a business-oriented social networking site that has a business process management (BPM) focus. Within your organization, you can have team members use ARISalign to work together to discover a business process.
ARISalign allows the participants of a process to collaborate to determine the activities that occur during that process. In other words, the real subject matter experts work together to discover the complete process. Developers who will be responsible for automating a process can also be involved during this process discovery. The participants can be spread across the organization, including across geographies. Additionally, you can use ARISalign to connect with colleagues, including those outside of your organization, to exchange knowledge, ideas, and opportunities.
In ARISalign, you:
• Maintain your profile to provide other ARISalign users information about yourself. You customize what information other ARISalign users can see.
• Build a personal network of contacts. The contacts can be ARISalign users who are employees of your own organization and also people from other organizations. Use the internal ARISalign Message Center to have conversations with your contacts.
• Create, join, and work in projects. Each project focuses on discovering a business process. You brainstorm with other project members to capture process requirements. Each project member simply writes down what they do within the process on virtual sticky notes on a virtual whiteboard. A BPM expert can then structure the information that they have captured on the whiteboard into process models to illustrate the steps that occur in the process. Developers can use the process model and process information on the whiteboard when automating the process.
•Create and join groups to collaborate with other users with similar interests. Each group is a network of ARISalign users interested in a common subject.
-------------------------------------------
We have also already started to integrate ARIS Express into ARISalign, so that it is possible to open any process model that has been created in ARISalign with ARIS Express. This integration will be built out further in the coming months.
Also, ARIS Community and ARISalign will have a very tight relationship and I think there is a good chance that the two will become one.
Hope this makes things a little more clear.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Thomas
