Hello everyone,
I would like to ask whether there are any plans to support an open AI integration for ARIS Business Process Management, for example through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or a similar standard.
Many enterprise customers are already using AI platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or internal AI solutions. From a customer perspective, it would be very valuable if ARIS content could be securely accessed from these environments, as an additional option alongside the existing AI capabilities in ARIS.
The main benefit I see is interoperability: ARIS could remain the authoritative source for process management, while customers could combine ARIS process information with context from other enterprise tools. This could make ARIS more relevant in future AI-supported enterprise workflows and help end users get better answers across system boundaries.
A read-only integration that respects existing ARIS permissions would already be a useful first step. Ideally, such an integration should be easy to adopt for existing customers and not require a separate, additional licensing model, as the value would mainly come from connecting ARIS with AI platforms already used within the organization.
Is something like this planned for ARIS BPM?
And how do other ARIS customers see this topic? Would an open AI integration with existing enterprise AI platforms be useful for your organization?
If you also see value in this idea, please consider liking this post so ARIS can better understand the customer interest around this topic.

Tim

Hello Tim,
I fully support your request. It should include the access to the ARIS API information.
My actual workarounds are, that I give AI (in my case ChatGPT) the process information as BPMN XML data and the ARIS API information case by case by copy/paste from the API documentation. I made the experience that even under these restrictions AI can help analyzing existent process models, and creating new reports with support of AI can be done within hours instead of days.
