Hi,

i just installed a new Server (Server 2012R2, HyperV-VM, 4 virtual CPU, 24 GB RAM) with ARIS Design Server 9.8 (connected to an Oracle 11G DB).

The software was installed succesfully, but when i want to start the start the aris design server, 2 of the runnables (abs_l, copernicus_l) wont start. They just stay with the status "starting".

ACC+ localhost>list

On node localhost 12 runnables are installed.

zoo_l          : STARTED (com.aris.runnables.zookeeper-run-prod-98.5.0)

couchdb_l      : STARTED (com.aris.runnables.couchdb-run-prod-98.5.0)

cloudsearch_l  : STARTED (com.aris.cip.y-cloudsearch-run-prod-98.5.0)

elastic_l      : STARTED (com.aris.runnables.elasticsearch-run-prod-98.5.0)

adsadmin_l     : STARTED (com.aris.adsadmin.y-adsadmin-run-prod-98.5.0)

umcadmin_l     : STARTED (com.aris.umcadmin.y-umcadmin-run-prod-98.5.0)

loadbalancer_l : STOPPED (com.aris.runnables.httpd.httpd-run-prod-98.5.0)

abs_l          : STARTING (com.aris.modeling.components.y-server-run-prod-98.5.0)

apg_l          : STOPPED (com.aris.age.age-run-prod-98.5.0)

copernicus_l   : STARTING (com.aris.copernicus.copernicus-portal-server-run-prod-98.5.0)

octopus_l      : STOPPED (com.aris.octopus.y-octopus_server-run-prod-98.5.0)

simulation_l   : STOPPED (com.aris.modeling.components.simulationserver.y-simuserver-run-prod-98.5.0)

Someone any idea what is going wrong, and how i get the server to start correct?

Thanks for any advice!

Greetings,

Torben

When abs_ hangs at STARTING, AND and external DBMS is used, then it's likely that the database connection isn't working properly, either caused by wrong parameters or wrong JDBC driver. Check the abs_ log files to find out where that runnables stopped and probably ran into a timeout.

C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.8\server\bin\work\work_abs_l\base\logs

Also, please check against the sizing recommendation in the ARIS Platform Matrix whether your 24 GB RAM is compliant with an L-sized installation. Please consider that some GB RAM are already consumed by W12K2.

Cheers

Rune

Thank you for the feedback. I checked everything and it was indeed the db connection.

The url for the connection was incorrect.

Url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:port:service"

It needs to be

Url= "jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:port/service"

Greetings,

Torben
