In order to show colleagues the principle of EA modeling and simulation I have just been trying to restore the United Motors demonstration model to a shared directory, without success.
I then tried and html export, also unsuccessful.
Is there some protection on this model which only allows it to be viewed in a local repository, i.e. for personal user to view?

thanks for your reply.
I should have said shared repository (not shared directory) and restore relates to "backup and restore".
To explain further, I had a copy of the demo database from an installation disc, in my local respository. I thought it would be quick to make a backup copy and then to share it with new colleagues by restoring it to the shared repository on our new test instance of ARIS (7.1 - actually its the Oracle BPA v11.1.1.4). I was going to demonstate the EA structure and prepared simulations.
However I could not complete the database restore to the server and, plan B, could not publish an html export. Hence my question about the possible copy protection.

So the real problem is, that the database restore does not work. It would be fine if you could post more information about the message during the failed restore procedure.
There is another possibility: just try the XML-Export. It is not meant to replace the backup/restore, but if it works, who cares...
Just create a database on the target repository. Export the group in the source system where the models are located which you want to share; import the XML(AML) file in the target repository afterwards.

Your error points to a problem with your Oracle instance.
It might be as simple as a full hard drive, but could also point the a configuration problem on Oracle. Best get your Oracle people involved.
The best option would be to contact SAG's support center. They will be able to help you more sepcifically. Send them all your ARIS log files from the server with your screenshots of the error message.

I tried the XML backup/restore and this appears to have worked fine - all except the the last group:

All the shortcuts to models are missing. Any ideas? Did I overlook an option in the export dialogue box?
