Difference between Application System Class, Application System Type and Application System

Hi All.

Can anyone please help me with understanding lucidly the difference between Application System Class and Application System Type. I have read through whatever material I can find. Have also looked at the definition given in ARIS help. But can anyone please help understand better, say from a layman's perspective?

Is Application System Class a more of a functional capability based grouping of ASTypes whille AS Types is more of a similar technology based grouping of Application Systems?

Hi,

ASC is used to show some kind of application, e.g. 'Modelling tools'. This object uses just for classification, and you can use some levels of classification with this object. AST is used to show concrete application (or module of application), e.g. 'Case wise', 'Bizagi', 'Mega', and all of them belong to class 'Modelling tools'.

Hi Vaibhav,

For ex. Application System Class could be Operational Applications . Application system type could be mobile or web application. And then you can map the actual applications. Its like narrowing down the picture.
