Could anybody explain how I can change the home page of the Business Publisher? We would like to start with a customised page for easy navigation, instead of the standard publisher home page.

I, too, am interested in how to customize the left side of the Business Publisher Home page. We just got the right side, News, working with our own static content (thanks to help from this list).
We would like to modify the messaging under the Welcome header with our own content. I have spent much time looking through the config files in the Business Publisher webapps folders and cannot locate the file or files that controls the left side of the page.
Your help is welcome.

It can be done by customizing, but not by means of changing config files only, so please do backup your files before.
Contents of the Home tab is rendered by
%arishome71%\BPServer\tomcat\webapps\businesspublisher\layouts\default\home.jsp
There you can find the strings
BP.home.wbhead.DBI and BP.home.wbtxt.DBI
which are defined in
%arishome71%\BPServer\tomcat\webapps\businesspublisher\layouts\default\properties\layout.properties
or layout_{yourlanguage}.properties resp.
There is still no documentation from IDS.
Other config hints are given in the Install_Administration_Guide.pdf

It is more difficult to do than with earlier WebPublisher templates and mostly not documented by IDS,
so please take care to backup your files before changing anything.
Apart from contents of the Home tab in
%arishome71%\BPServer\tomcat\webapps\businesspublisher\layouts\default\home.jsp
you can customize
topnav.jsp (in the same directory) and
\css\styles.css
to implement your company's logo and colours in the upper navigation area and background.
For more ambitious changes to the whole front appearance your request should be more specific.

In fact,for the viewer , i mean that normally when we open the publisher ,we connect with our user and password , but also we can connect with the user : viewer pass: viewer , but unfortunately it dont work .. that is my question. I hope that i was clear.

there is nothing I can do on your problem from here.
Do you maintain yourself the ARIS database from which you exported to Business Publisher? Then please check if there is a user "viewer" with the coresponding password in that DB.
If not, I can only assume that you added the user "viewer" to the Business Publisher database after the export by means of the Bus.Publisher Administrator view. This type of user will be deleted after a new export or update of an existing export from the ARIS-source DB.

I wanted to ask you another question if that's possible, concerning the customise of the home page of the Publisher. I managed to put the company logo and to add what i want in the News, but in this part there is always a link with the comments i added and i just want to add texts, i think it comes form the xml folder changed which i used to add the News ( where i found "rss and channel"),i tried to delete these two tags and to write a new xml but it did'nt work ( arishome71\BRserver\tomcat\webapps\businesspublisher\layouts\default\data\news.rdf.xml))
Do you have any idea how to see just texts?

I have ARIS set up for anonymous access but I need some help setting up the home page so users can move around easier because teh current format is not that user friendly.
So, how can I change the home page for my database so users that logged in anonymously are faced with a nice and friendly home page?
