Hello,
I am currently taking a look at a daily database backups for ARIS Cloud.
Software AG also has backups from the server, but I would like to have our own (immediately restorable) backups as well somewhere.
With older (on prem) versions, there was a possibility of adding a standard script in a .bat file/and the admin.exe tool.
But since is it a SaaS product, is there another way of making daily backups ourselves? (config file portal for instance?)
And if so, how do I make that happen?
Thanks in advance,
BR,
Vincent Bakker
Dear Vincent,
When you would run ARIS on-premise you had access to ARIS Tenant Management (ATM) as browser-based user interface to manage tenant backups, or use ARIS Cloud Controller (ACC) as command line user interface for typed in commands or via batch scripts. In TM you could schedule backups, start manually a backup or restore etc. because you have full access. The both tools aren't accessible on SaaS.
However, as you are using ARIS on SaaS the whole backend process is managed by our Cloud Operations team. Via support ticket you can easily get access to your backups. The default policy is to keep daily backups for 30 days.
You mentioned ARIS Server Administator (aka arisadm.bat) which can't handle a full tenant backup but only those ARIS parts which belong to databases, report scripts and the like. That tool can't cover a full tenant backup like TM or ACC.
If you are owning a project room on ARIS Cloud Enterprise (ACE) you can access your project room with ARIS Server Administrator and other command line tools, such as for ARIS User Management (UMC) and ARIS Document Storage (ADS) if that was agreed for your private ACE hosting. But even all three tools can't cover a full tenant backup.
Cheers
