Translation of strings in arx files

Hi ARIS community,

I am wondering whether any of you has a clever idea for how to (automatically) translate strings/variables in reports. I only know how to do it manually, but when I have 30 strings and I need to translate all of them into 3-5 languages, I feel that it is a waste of time.

So, ideally, I would love to have some kind of possibility to import an excel- similar to the "import translated attributes" report. Does something like that exist?

Or is anyone aware of a another solution?

Hello Veronika,

excellent idea, but as of today not visible to the public.

There is a more encompassing request "Simplified maintenance of translation in operating elements" also concerning report string tables and open for voting.

In the meantime a possible way to mass translate script string tables is to

extract the corresponding text file from the scripts archive *.arx (= zip)
duplicate it for the target languages
run it through your preferred translator
add it to the script archive
upload and test if all the pitfalls of file naming conventions and syntax have been miraculously avoided 8-))
