Hello members,
Does any one have the knowledge on how ARIS with Pega can be used for BPM implementation?
Is it manual import & export of the models from ARIS to Pega for execution?
Regards,
Vinay
Hi Vinay,
We did some work in this area and eventually came to the conclusion that it is quicker to redraw/build in PEGA via the PRPC modeller / Visio extension. The import is not as seamless as one would like between ARIS and PEGA. We tried creating BPEL from EPC diagrams and importing these into PEGA (ARIS does not have a BPMN to BPEL conversion).
Apparently, Accenture have built a converter that uses Visio to make the ARIS EPC to PEGA import work. We have given up.

Hi Damian,
Thanks for your quick response.
So based on your experience i assume that the ARIS-Pega integratin is not straight forward nor it is bi-directional.
But, i have seen in ARIS Business Architect, you can generate BPEL process models out of BPMN models, aren't those useful or appropriate for Pega import?
I would like to hear the experience of other members on the same, your views are highly appreciated!
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Vinay,
Apologies, I have only just seen your post.
I have not been able to produce BPEL from BPMN in Aris Business Architect. This can be done from EPC but EPC was not designed for BPEL extracts so their is a 'loss in translation'. Hence, we have not been very successful with this roundtrip to PEGA.

Damian
Dear all,
from a product management perspective I am very happy you raised the question on how ARIS shares process models with other BPMS (e.g. Pega). Currently we offer XPDL as an exchange format. In the SOA architect you find exporting facilities from EPC and BPMN into XPDL.
Within this year we will release a new BPMN2 export that will supersede XPDL as the primary exchange format to other BPMS.
Best regards
Katrina
