We want to upgrade our Aris 7.02 product to release 7.2,
-should we uninstall the old one?
-which product should we download for this, a full download or update package?
we have this link for downloading

sorry i have writen 7.02 but that was a fault, we are currently using release 7.1 and want to upgrade to 7.2

Aris 7.2 mustbeinstalled in the same directory as Aris 7.1 and you need updated license keys for both client and server.

Is there documentation that tells you how to upgrade? When I downloaded 7.2 it only talks about fresh install.

We were also perplexed and disappointed by the lack of detailed documentation re: how to upgrade to 7.2 from an existing ARIS environment (we were on 7.1). We contacted the ARIS Support line but did not get anything detailed from them either.
We did not want to risk an extended outage with our existing client base, so we ended up doing a 2 day consulting assignment with one of Software AG's ARIS technical consultants. We did the Dev/Test environment first, allowed a week for testing there, and then did the production upgrade. This worked out fine - but perhaps in the future Software AG will provide the detailed upgrade instructions.
Even with the consultant, there was quite a bit of internal confusion within Software AG re: getting the correct license keys for clients and servers. They assured us that this will be last time we need to implement new keys - fingers crossed. Also, we were told after implementing that there is now an extra cost if we want to use Collaboration. We were not sure we wanted to use it anyway, since we have other software to share screens, but we were surprised about this additional charge.
There is some very good news - the thin client now downloads very quickly, so we have been able to migrate our entire global client base away from the thick client ! This saved a great deal of time for us with our internal company client/server deployment efforts and streamlines our support. We upgraded about 2 weeks ago and have not had any problems with 7.2, so we're very pleased so far.

Hi All,
First i must say that i dont suggest you upgrading from 7.1 to 7.2 without uninstalling, since even database congifuration must change (characterset etc. for ORACLE). I solved the problem by uninstalling both aris and oracle. that is what i can say for you
