Hi ARIS team,
I have setup the ARIS express with the language option German. I have played a little bit around. Then I have tried to switch to English w/o success. Also the way via Ansicht => Optionen => Modellsprache does not work.

volker.lueck
Hi,
the "modellsprache" does not change the language which is used for the user interface. It is only used to get the right font for your content (see the help).
If you want to change the user interface language, currently, you've got to do the following (OK, it is a hack, don't spread it ;-)
Open the file c:\documents and settings\<your user>\ARISExpress\user.cfg
There, you will find a section:
<userdata type="aris:interfacelocalecountry" value="DE"/>
<userdata type="aris:interfacelocale" value="de"/>
<userdata type="aris:methodlocale" value="de"/>
<userdata type="aris:methodlocalecountry" value="DE"/>
change that to:
<userdata type="aris:interfacelocalecountry" value="US"/>
<userdata type="aris:interfacelocale" value="en"/>
<userdata type="aris:methodlocale" value="en"/>
<userdata type="aris:methodlocalecountry" value="US"/>
We had a look on other tools, and they also do not provide changing the language afterwards... Do you think this is normally necessary?
Bye,
Frank
Hi Frank,
thanks!
Normally I would that this is not really important but I have identified that e.g. you have to create system landscapes in EN and in DE due to the fact that you have internal customers who do not speak DE or EN the header of a system landscape overview shows:
in DE: Typ: Systemlandschaft
and in EN: Type: system landscape
and there is no way to change the typing of the word.
Regads, Volker
Thank you guy`s.
The procedure works very well for my question (see below).
Please, I did the dowload of ARIS Express software in a German language. How can i do to move for English language?I already tried to remove from my computer and install again, but I
had not sucess.
Regards
Carlitos
Hi Carlitos,
yes, the installation itsself does not affect the settings you've made. So, uninstalling does not help. Just closing the tool and change the language as mentioned above changes the UI language.
Hi Denis,
shame on me... I must have missed your post. No, Express does not support multiple languages of you model. You need to define the language, you want to have the models created for. Express finds automatically an appropriate language according to your system. But you can change the language later on, if you wish, via an option page:
Bye,
Frank
Hi ARIS team,
I have set my language by accident as German and I would like to rechange it to English, I have already uninstalled and installed the programme back. I followed the steps due to hack you have put above but I havent found those lines in my programme.
