We came to conclusion to have saparate business servers rather than multiply databases.

The reason is that there are varous not related ARIS activities, such as:

  • Educational (training)
  • Development (testing and pre-production modelling)
  • Production (modelling of the real business environment).

All of these activities have different requirements and management procedures.

The question is that - can we run 3 different instances of ARIS Business Server on one machine or better put them into 3 different machines?

There is no license restriction and we can run several ARIS Business Server on different machines. However, there is an oppinion that having them on one machine make will make things easier to manage.

Did anybody have the same issue and have it solved?

There is another question with fault tolerancy - how does the ARIS BUSINESS SERVER work on fault tolerant cluster? Does anybody have experience running clustered ARIS BUSINESS SERVER and are there any specific issues related to clustering? Specific configuration?

We expect that in clustered environment if one machine fails (blue screen of death) another machine will continue to serve requests keeping database up to date with recent changes. We run Oracle as a database (which works well in clustered environment).

Thanks in advance.
