We are migrating from 7.0 to 7.1 and found new featuew in ARIS BA/BD 7.1 which doesn't allow us to do modeling the way we did in previous version.
In 7.0 if you need to connect several objects you click on icon Comnnections and from that point systems understands that I am doing object linkage and I can continiously link them.
In 7.1 I have to click on Connections icon evey time I want to connet objects. It is a little bit annoying.
Is it a new feature of 7.1 or there is some configuration item which controls such behavior of the software.
Thanks in advance for help.
Hi,
per default, the "connection mode" is off. You just need to switch it on again by clicking onto the icon in the toolbar.
Whenever you move with the mouse to the border of an object, automatically, the catch point for beginning a connection is shown. Just a click and the connection creation mode starts.
Bye,
Frank
Hi, Frank.
Thanks for your support message.
I do understand that it could be a wish list not well educated people, but the question, actually, is - is it possible to change what is "per default" somewhere and have ARIS configured to meet people expectations?
It is a little bit strange to advertize feature such as intelligent linking and have it switched off per default.
It is not a problem to train people how to deal with default settings, but sounds reasonable to have default tuned per people expectations.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Bye.
