I have been building an org chart with SmartDesign etc. and just about got the layout I needed, when after a save and re-open ArisEx "decided" to change the layout of the links.
Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround or a way to switch off the re-routing mechanism?
The changed layout isn't when it gets saved it changes when you use Edit SmartDesign
- when you Add Object or press Enter
- when you indent
This renders Edit SmartDesign unusable for my current work.... nicht sehr smart!!! 8-(
Also when the change of layout occurs - without any other changes to the model - there is no way to close the model (to revert to the saved version) - you have to close ArisEx and start again....

Using SmartDesign on existing structures forces a re-layout, right.
Well, currently this is the state how SmartDesign behaves, sorry. It is mainly used to fast capturing of new data. Existing structures are not the main use case.

Same thing happens in Process Landscape as well....
Schade - ueberhaupt nicht smart!
I was going back to capture the rest of a "new structure".... I had previously captured only 1 leg of a Process Landscape/Hierarchy and wanted to capture the rest now (several days later...). Seems like a normal use-case to me - the user should be able to take breaks, sleep overnight, go on holiday and be able to resume where they left off!
So just "how fast" do you have to capture "new data"?
Seems that any subsequent addition using SmartDesign blows the layout...
